the end of genesis T.M.R.evolution turbo type D
Following the conclusion of his Tokyo Dome performances in , Takanori Nishikawa announced he would temporarily seal T.M.Revolution, and encouraged fans to search for the keys that would release the seal.
Shortly after, he formed the short-lived project the end of genesis T.M.R.evolution turbo type D (frequently abbreviated to TMR-e), with his then-producer and composer Daisuke Asakura on keyboards.
The meaning of the project's name is as follows:
- the end of genesis signalling a conclusion to the initial chapter of TMR's career
- T.M.R.evolution implying an 'evolution' of T.M.Revolution
- turbo derives from Takanori Nishikawa's childhood nickname ター坊 (taabou), and is also the name of his fanclub
- type D refers to Daisuke Asakura
In , TMR-e released the three singles 陽炎 -KAGEROH-, 月虹 -GEKKOH- and 雪幻 -winter dust-.
TMR-e's first tour, PREMIERE 1999, began in . In contrast to TMR's Tokyo Dome concerts earlier in the year, this tour was held in smaller venues and more closely resembled a classical music recital. The setlist also featured ballad-style "covers" of TMR songs.
TMR-e's only album, Suite Season, was released in . As the name suggests, the album is structured as a single classical music suite, which is split across nine tracks. This page contains translations of the album's five vocal tracks.
The second and final TMR-e tour, LIVE ARENA 2000 A.D., began in . After performing Suite Season in full, the second half of the set was performed as T.M.Revolution, with Nishikawa announcing the seal was finally broken.
Since then, there have been no further releases from TMR-e. Nishikawa has continued releasing music under the T.M.Revolution name, very occasionally incorporating TMR-e tracks into his setlists. More recently, Nishikawa performed Suite Season in full with the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra in and .
