This website has been online since ! You are currently viewing version 2 of the site, which is functionally identical to version 1 except I've rebuilt it with eleventy (11ty), a static site generator.

About the webmistress
Hello! My name's Sarah (she/her) and I'm from Melbourne, Australia.
I started making websites in , when I was 10 years old. Everything I made back then was hosted on GeoCities (RIP). Although the web has changed a lot since then, I hope that this site can capture a bit of the spirit of that time!
I've been listening to j-pop since and I started learning Japanese in . (By the way, if you're also studying Japanese, I've collected some of my favourite resources on my links page.)
I'm using this site to house my song translations. I was fortunate to get into j-pop at a time where there was a lot of information readily available in English on fansites and LiveJournal. A lot of those resources gradually started disappearing, and at the same time my Japanese kept improving until I no longer needed to rely on English translations. Around I became interested in translation as a hobby. Looking for something to practice on, I decided to make my own resource for lyrics for my favourite artists.
Essentially, my goals for this site are to
- practice translating things
- introduce my favourite artists' music to a wider audience
- have the opportunity to translate deep cuts I never thought I'd see translated
- use it as a fun webdev project and place to collect my misc. web things
My other interests are art, pop music appreciation, and internet archeology. You can also find me on Tumblr and Bookmeter.
My favourite Pokemon is ...TEDDIURSA!
